Yermias Mandacan, Head of West Manokwari District, supports the sustainability of Special Autonomy (Otonomi Khusus a.k.a Otsus) as Otsus is a blessing for the Papuan people to improve welfare, development and progress in various fields.

"I really support the sustainability of Otsus in order to improve welfare in the Land of Papua, especially since the government has raised the Special Autonomy funds in the future. This is a fortune for us in order to advance the land of Papua in terms of infrastructure, education, health and the people's economy so that it can really be felt by the whole community, especially the people. Papuan natives," he said.

Yermias added that the state's attention to the provinces of Papua and West Papua was extraordinary to advance the two provinces.

"The state's attention to Papua and West Papua so far has been extraordinary for the sake of advancing and prospering the two provinces. We realize that without the support and assistance from the central government, we may not be able to progress and develop as we are today, both in terms of infrastructure, education, health and well-being. economy, we believe that in the future Papua and West Papua will be able to compete with other regions in Indonesia,” he said.

Responding to the conduciveness of the area where he lives and in general in Manokwari Regency, he admits that it is still being monitored as safe and secure.

"The situation in Ambori Village in particular, including Manokwari Regency, is still generally safe, this is an important factor in supporting sustainable development, even though the Covid-19 pandemic is still not over," he continued.

Regarding government services to the community in the West Manokwari District in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, he said the service would continue to run by prioritizing health protocols.
